Admit it, You’re now singing Angels by Robbie Williams in your head! If not about to crunch it into Spotify….
Whilst we can be fairly sure Robbie wasn’t talking about Woking Street Angels, we certainly are loving the Street Angels for the work they put in every week, offering protection and support to those out enjoying the night life. If you didn’t already know; “Woking Street Angels are teams of trained volunteers who, for the past six years, have walked the streets of our town throughout every Friday and Saturday night offering help, or a listening ear, wherever it is needed.
When on duty they always walk in small teams, working with the door staff, emergency services and the police to ensure that night-time visitors to our town have a pleasant experience. Woking Street Angels are urgently in need of new recruits. Street Angels commit to one shift a month, and the next training sessions begin in mid-October. So if you are laying in your bed, thoughts running through your head, maybe you could become a street Angel. Or maybe you are blessed with love and want to share that with others, you could be Street Angel
If you would like more information, or to apply to become a Woking Street Angel, please contact wokingstreetangels@gmailcom, or visit the web site www.wokingstreetangels.org.uk or talk with our own Shani Orchard and Chris Rumsey who both have “Angels” experience.”
