Welcome to our Worship for Sunday 4 October
A special welcome if you are joining us for the first time. We’d love to welcome you properly, so please click here to send an email: email@example.com
Today we present a recording of the Family Harvest Festival service in church last Sunday, and the theme is God’s goodness and generosity. Janice demonstrates how, by being generous with what’s you’ve got, you can end up with even more than before. The dramatised reading is about the Widow Of Zerephath (in 1 Kings 17:1-16) who trusted God and was generous with what little she had. (There is no separate page for children/families this week.)

Open for Sunday worship
St Andrew’s is open for a short service of Holy Communion each Sunday at 10am. There are limited numbers, according to Government regulations, and, sadly, no congregational singing. We started by prioritising invitations to those who have not been able to engage in worship online and those who live on their own. Then last week we held a family service for Harvest which was a great success. We would now like to widen the invitations to anyone who is keen to return to church in person. Please register your interest by emailing Liz at email@example.com with your name(s) and telephone number; you will receive a phone call in the week prior to the Sunday to invite you that service. There is no pressure to return to the church building (we will be continuing “on line” worship resources alongside “on site” services) but if you choose to, please make your own risk assessment based on your situation. Please be assured we are struictly adhering to Government and Church of England guidance including social distancing, wearing of face masks, and no singing or refreshments. Please do not attend if you are unwell or have been asked to self-isolate. If you are among the group of people most vulnerable to Covid-19, the Government and Church of England’s suggestion is that you avoid gathering in church for now.
Andy’s Community Cafe has reopened! At present it is only on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10am-2.30pm during school term time. Masks are compulsory, other than when seated. A slightly reduced menu is in operation for now but all our sandwiches, soup, cakes, tea, coffee and soft drinks are still available and just as yummy as they ever were. Please come and support us if you can – we can’t wait to serve you! – Mary, Amanda & Ayman
This year the food donations given at Harvest will be used by Andy’s Café. They need:
– pecan nuts and walnuts
– chocolate (for baking)
– flour (plain, self raising, wholemeal, gluten free)
– caster sugar and icing sugar
– dried apricots, cranberries, coconut and oats.
Please bring any of these items (if you are coming to the service) to St Andrew’s Church this Sunday.
If you are not able to come in person, or would prefer to give online, we are supporting Woking Food Bank. Please go to their website for details on how you can donate: woking.foodbank.org.uk
