The worship song ‘Blessed Be Your Name” was co-written by Matt Redman and his wife, Beth, in part as a response to the tragedy of the September 11th 2000 attacks in the United States. They observed that among most of the songs and hymns being sung there was not enough language to grapple with grief.

Yet the Bible is full of ordinary people trying to grapple with often difficult circumstances they find themselves in. They find the words and a voice to express to God their questions, doubt, fears and even anger.

Christmas for many of us can be a hard and complex time. The Christmas story itself is hardly trouble free… it is an earthy story. Let this song help you know that whatever – we are not alone.
